Apprentice Production Sound Engineer
Full TimeBookmark Details
The job is – to learn!
We would like to recruit intelligent, interested, enthusiastic, hard-working people who are self-motivated and eager to learn the skills, methods and attitudes necessary to start a career as a Production Sound Engineer for shows, events and installations. This position is not intended to be a job, so much as the start of a career.
Training will be given, and hours will sometimes be long but (mostly) enjoyable. The work will initially be based at Autograph HQ, where candidates will be assigned to different departments, and expected to learn about the equipment and develop some familiarity with it, whilst also working hard and adding value to the department in question. Out-of-hours learning will be necessary to achieve this.
Progress and performance will be monitored by the Senior Production Engineer, who will carry out at least 2 performance reviews per month with the candidate.
At the discretion of the Senior Production Engineer, Apprentices will be integrated with teams of Production Engineers who are building and installing systems in order to gain experience in the actual application and use of the systems and equipment. When this happens, hours worked will be the hours worked by the team in question.
There will be a 6 month probationary period – upon completing this, apprentices are expected to commit to a minimum of 2 years in the role.
This is an opportunity to start a career in the “Autograph Family”.
If you would like a predictable job with regular hours then this is not the opportunity you are looking for – if you want to work hard and learn then you could do a lot worse.

- Attention to detail, and a willingness/ability to focus on technical details.
