About Me

I studied Esports at university and graduated with a 2:1. I chose esports because it was a unique course as it delved into many different departments of the industry. It combines the production side – digital media and broadcasting – with practical experience of business, marketing event management and the theory-based community and cultural studies aspects of the industry. My favourite module was by far the broadcasting and production side as I got the chance to learn to operate industry standard technology. I was instantly interested in broadcasting, operating av tech etc so I signed up for the arena sessions club at university which was a group of students that booked out the broadcast room outside lesson hours to practise using this equipment. My proudest work is assisting in the broadcast room, operating the audio console and video mixer during an inter-university esport tournament. The event was broadcasted live on twitch to over 80 viewers. I have learnt the difference between the XLR and DMX cables, the difference in impedance and compatibility. I have learnt how to program 6 channels for a lighting fixture on a lighting console and what each channel represents. At the end of the event i was part of the tear down where I coiled cables and safely unplugged camera cables.
I have a proven track record of working efficiently in group environments. Whilst working on an open day event at university for a visiting secondary school, my group achieved 95% positive reviews from students which built a recurring relationship with the visiting schools for the future. I enjoy working in groups but I can also thrive independently so I believe having the ability of being comfortable with both is essential for this role as I am aware that it involves a lot of problem solving. I am a friendly individual with a big willingness to learn about AV technology.
