Job Description
We are seeking to hire a Control Prep Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, testing, and maintaining high-end control equipment for rental. This includes working with state-of-the-art systems such as GrandMA lighting consoles, Luminex network switches, Robe RoboSpots, Follow-Me, and Clear-Com comms.
While this is an entry-level position, comprehensive training will be provided, allowing for substantial career progression within our growing company.
Duties
Preparation, testing, and maintenance of control equipment (GrandMA consoles, Luminex network switches, RoboSpot, Follow-Me systems, Clear-Com comms) to ensure they are fully functional, clean, and meet LCR’s standards.
Collaborating with the production team to support pre-production setup and ensuring all control systems are ready for deployment.
Provide feedback on equipment status, report any damages or malfunctions, and book faulty items into the repairs department.
General warehouse duties including cleaning, organising, and maintaining warehouse areas to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
Using barcode stock control software to manage the checking in and out of equipment.
Assist with loading and unloading trucks and vans, ensuring the safe transport of sensitive control equipment.
Adhere to LCR’s Health and Safety policies and contribute to maintaining a clean and secure work environment.
Contribute to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the operational process.
Required Skills
Basic understanding of networking and control systems.
Ability to troubleshoot issues with lighting control and network equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to ensuring equipment quality.
Physical ability to handle bending, lifting, and moving equipment as part of daily duties.
Good teamwork and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
Flexibility, a strong work ethic, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Forklift or Narrow Aisle Truck license is an advantage but not essential.
Working Conditions
Standard hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime during busy periods, including evenings and weekends.
Salary: £18,500 – £23,500 per year, based on experience.
