About Me
“Music can change the world because it can change people” Bono.
I passionately believe that the quote above truly represents me as a person. Music has always been my outlet for sharing my emotions. My love for music inspires me to achieve my goals. I relish the chance to take on new challenges. The reason being is because of my own personal experience with having disabilities. I have always looked at my disabilities as a gift as a positive way to change and do things, and not to impact as a disadvantage even though it can be challenging at times, you can always find a way. I want to inspire and to help others with overcoming difficulties during their journey.
My passion for music has always been evident in my family and life. I attended BYMT Rock School every Saturday from Year 7 up until year 13. I joined as a drummer then progressing to performing at The Churchill theatre and other venues. I also help set up and break down equipment. Alongside this I was at The Ravensbourne School, during my studies I was actively involved with the school’s music department by mentoring and teaching students’ music and Logic Pro X as well as helping with maintaining instruments.
My studies continued at ICMP. I graduated with a BA Creative Music Production then recently an MA in Creative Music Production, I was also awarded ‘Most Outstanding Student’ on the MA course. As a result, I have knowledge of DAW’s, audio interfaces, mixing desks, types of cables, microphones and how to use and setup a recording studio. Following this I became a Freelance Student Support Assistant at ICMP. This role provided1:1 study support session’s by teaching students with SEN the process of music production, including using equipment and techniques. Alongside my studies at ICMP I worked with the EDI team as the LGBTQA+, disability and equality student champion. I believe everybody should have the opportunity to access music and it should be more inclusive. My goal is to complete a PHD, I have recently joined the PHD support group at ICMP so am on the path to continue my educational journey.
Music is my passion and that will never change.
