MARS Volume is Bild’s state-of-the art 12,000 sqft Virtual Production facility, combining in-camera-VFX pipelines with camera-tracking technologies, media servers and LED screens to create a versatile and immersive performance stage for anything between car shoots to live music performances.
We are offering an LED Volume Stage Operator Internship for a keen and motivated, detail-oriented individual eager to dive into the art and technology of virtual production at MARS Volume.
About the Role
As an LED Volume Stage Operator Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience with our Virtual Production team, ensuring shoots that come through MARS Volume are successful and of a high standard. You will work across a range of tasks, such as operating both 2D and 3D content, assisting on set, getting content ready for productions, and assisting with the continuous improvement of MARS Volume’s technical systems.
Whether you’re passionate about film, technical 3D art, or real-time production environments, this is a rare opportunity to get practical training on real-world projects using industry-leading tools and technologies.
What You’ll Do
* Support the Unreal Engine operators during shoots
* Support the Disguise operators during shoots
* Create Unreal Engine tools and Blueprints that can assist with productions
* Create Unreal Engine scenes that can be tested and shown on the LED Volume
* Support the calibration and operation of camera tracking systems (Stype)
* General assistance on set
* Download and display content on the LED volume sent over by clients
* Continually think and implement new systems and ideas that can improve MARS during our quieter periods
What We’re Looking For
* Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in areas such as Live Events Technology, Game Development, Visual Effects, Film Production, Media Technology,
* Basic understanding of 3D modelling and texturing
* Familiarity with Unreal Engine and an interest in real-time 3D workflows
* Comfortable learning new tools and systems—both hardware and software
* Interest in Media playback solutions, such as Disguise and Pixera
* Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn on the job
* Team player with a proactive, can-do attitude, and confident communication skills
* A portfolio or project showcase is welcomed
* (Bonus) Experience with version control software
* (Bonus) Knowledge of the tools in Unreal Engine (Niagara, Landscape, Foliage, etc)
